Jules Verne chez Hachette de 1914 à 1950
After purchasing the Hetzel publishing company in 1914, Hachette et Cie continued to serve as the exclusive publisher in French for the works of Jules Verne until 1966, when Verne’s works entered the public domain. The editorial policy of the publishing company Hachette is examined in this article which focuses on the various collections, covers, and changes made to Jules Verne’s novels between 1914 and 1950.
